Viktoria Plzeň went to play the 3rd Synot League round to České Budějovice. The coach Dušan Uhrin made several changes in the lineup. Matúš Kozáčik was substituted by Petr Bolek, Pavel Horváth by Patrik Hrošovský and Marek Bakoš by Jan Chramosta.

Viktoria entered this match very well. Limberský and Petržela on the left side beat the defence, Petržela passed the ball to Radim Řezník in the penalty area and he scored – 0:1 for Viktoria. The fans saw another Viktoria´s big chance on 8 minutes. Petržela got in the 18-yard box and sent a tough shot to the goalkeeper Křížk who hit it out. On 17 minutes the fans burst out of joy again when Hořava passed the ball to running Chramosta and he scored. The goalkeeper Křížek only watched the ball flying to the back upright – 0:2 for Viktoria. Budějovice performed their first shot on 22 minutes. Škoda decided to shoot after a quick break but his attempt went off the goal. Budějovice tried to make the midfield and the penalty area crowded because they realized the quality of their opponent. Viktoria played mostly around the 18-yard box but could not score again. On 36 and 39 minutes two Budějovice´s players, Brunclík and Novák, were shown a yellow card for their fouls on Hrošovský and Chramosta. 4 minutes later Machovec took a free kick. His interesting attempt touched the upright but Viktoria quickly placed the ball away. In spite of the home team´s effort it seemed Viktoria were to go in the dressing rooms in a 2-goals lead. However, Daniel Kolář added one more goal – 0:3 for Viktoria.

Plzeň did not give up their offensive style after a break. Petržela´s and Pilař´s action was a proof of that. Unfortunately, Pilař had a lack of centimetres in height to get the ball. On 59 minutes Viktoria performed a break on the line Hořava – Kolář – Limberský. The latter sent the ball to Chramosta who finally scored – 0:4 for Viktoria. Budějovice tried to change the score but Volešák´s free kick went off the goal as well as Linhart´s shot on 67 minutes. 2 minutes later Chramosta was substituted by Stanislav Tecl. Ondřej Vaněk was to liven up the offensive line and substituted Milan Petržela. On 73 minutes these two substituted players cooperated and created a big chance of Viktoria but did not add any goal. Plzeň´s fans were those who created great atmosphere at the stadium in České Budějovice and in the final minutes celebrated their team´s win 0:4.
