At the end of the tournament only the best. Viktorians celebrate the 3rd place at the home Memorial Trophy of Stanislav Štrunc. They the won the last match against West Bromwich Albion 4-3 on penalties although 10 minutes before the end they were losing by two goals. The whole tournament was won by Glasgow Rangers.

Young Viktorians entered the match very successfully. Uzel and Selnar produced goal chances right at the beginning but the opponent´s goalkeeper saved their attempts. "The 1st half was definitely better from our side. I think we got in many promising chances and our leading could be even higher," the coach Jiří Žilák was satisfied.

Plzeň were leading after the 1st half thanks to Selnar´s goal, however, WBA totally turned the match progress in the 2nd half. After goals of Azaz, O’Sullivan and Soule the score was 1-3. "West Brom took the initiative in the 2nd half," Žilák knew.

Viktorians performed amazing final phase that was opened by a goal of Adam Vrba in 70th minute. 3 minutes later the score was equalized by Pavel Šulc who trained with the A-team in summer. "It was amazing experience for me. Everything is much faster there, the quality of players is higher and in general the men´s game is totally different," the player revealed.

In penalty shootout the English players did not score 3 out of 4 kicks and our team was more successful in all of them so finally celebrated the 3rd place in the tournament standings. "We played the matches with Legia and today with WBA on very high level and the 3rd place is appropriate," Žilák thinks.

The coach spoke highly about the quality of the tournament. "It was fantastic comparison with all participating teams. I think mainly the match with Rangers helped us in many things and can inspire us for further work," Žilák was pleased.

Scottish Rangers won the whole Memorial when in the finals they beat Žilina 4-0. The 5th place was sat by Hertha Berlin that beat Legia Warsaw that finished at 6th place.

Rangers´ coach Graeme Murty also praised the 6-teams comparison. "I´ve been to this tournament with Norwich when I trained them and I liked it here. We´ll be happy to come back, hopefully for the trophy again (he says smiling). For the players it´s great experience to play in a different country with different culture," he said after the finals.

The 43-years-old coach also invited Viktorians to Scotland. "Of course, you all and the club are invited to Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow. Let´s come to watch the game Rangers v Celtic because that´s worth seeing," Murty exhorted.

At the end of the day the captain of the winning team Cameron Palmer took the microphone. "Thank you very much for the organization of this tournament, the fans for their support and for your care during the whole weekend here," Rangers´ midfielder closed the speaking.
