Almost one month of pre-season training sessions ended, FC Viktoria Plzeň are approaching the start of 2019/2020 season. In autumn they will play 20 league rounds, UCL/UEL qualifying rounds and MOL Cup.

Friendlies

Viktoria played in total seven friendly matches, in which they lost only one. As traditionally they started pre-season trainings with teams from lower divisions, at Luční street stadium they beat Domažlice and Sokolov. Afterwards they played in Liptovský Mikuláš on the occasion of 85th anniversary of local club. At training camp in Austria they beat Craiova and Ufa, tied with Karabakh and lost to Legia.

A-squad changes
Coach Pavel Vrba has five new names in his team at the beginning of 2019/2020. Midfielder Lukáš Kalvach came from Olomouc, Dominik Janošek returned from loan in Slovácko to the same position, his great performance in pre-season surprised coaches. Christián Herc should support offence, he came on loan with option from Wolverhampton. Offensive power of the team was strenghten by universal Ondřej Mihálik from loan in AZ Alkmaar. Adam Hloušek joined the team as a free player from Legia Warsaw.

Plzeň also released some of their long-time supports. Marek Bakoš and Daniel Kolář finished their careers, however, both of them stayed in the club – Bakoš as a coach’s assistant and Kolář as a sport manager of youth. Milan Petržela, after 11 years in Viktoria, transferred to Slovácko. There are more players to move, some of them on loan and others transferred. Patrik Hrošovský signed to Belgian Genk where he is heading after European qualifying rounds.

Fight for Champions League

Plzeň want to fight for the fourth promotion to UCL group stage in the club history. On Tuesday 23rd July this fight can begin, the first team standing on their way is Olympiacos. The tickets for the home match are on sale from 10th July, season ticket holders are advantaged by presale, tickets for general public will be released on 15th July.

Season tickets still available
Almost 6,300 season ticket holders bought their ticket until this days. The club appreciate their support a lot! These tickets are still available and they are possible to buy in Viktoria shop or online at Plzeňská vstupenka.

New football kits
Boosted by new energy. Viktoria enter the new season with this motto. As usually with new kits that should represent speed, power of lightning and energy by which Viktorians are boosted. The base stayed club colours - red and blue. By the second version Viktoria stay with favourite white colour. The third, as traditionally, is again innovative and totally different from previous seasons – this time neon yellow. Goalkeepers can choose black, blue or pink kit.

Summer photo contest

Also this year Viktoria organizes summer photo contest for their fans that invites to send pics with Viktoria’s items from summer holidays. Fans can tag Viktoria on Instagram by hashtag #leto2019fcvp or they can send photos to e-mail leto2019@fcviktoria.cz. The prizes are football kit or a ball signed by the whole team, the most attractive one is a VIP tour through the Doosan Arena for 5 people.
