We announce that our new head coach will be Adrian Guľa. The 44-years-old Slovak signed a two and a half year contract with the club.

Adrian Guľa managed the Slovak U21 national team since May 2018. "I am very pleased that the negotiations went successfully before Christmas and that we are able to introduce the new head coach to our fans," said general manager Adolf Šádek. "We have been following his work for a long time and I have to admit that we really liked it. After we parted ways with Pavel Vrba it was a key priority for us to appoint him as our new head coach. I am glad that it didn´t take a long time to conclude," Šádek added.

"I wish him nothing but good luck and much success with our club. I am looking forward to our work together," said club´s president Tomáš Paclík.

Guľa will be introduced to players for the first time on 6th of January 2020 when the winter pre-season starts. "I am looking forward to the new challenge and of course to the fans of Viktoria. I have seen Plzeň´s matches many times and I know that there are very good fans in Doosan Arena. I hope we will be making them happy," said Guľa, who started with coaching when 34 years old in Trenčín. Then he moved to Žilina, where he won the league in 2016/2017 season and was selected as the best coach in the league.

Adrian Guľa is bringing some of his assistants to the club – Marián Zimen (assisting coach), Ladislav Kubalík (video-analyst and player scout) and Martin Kojnok (fitness specialist). He will also be joined by current assistant Marek Bakoš and newly by goalkeeper Matúš Kozáčik, who will become a goalkeeping coach.

"It´s a big challenge for me," Kozáčik admitted. "We know that Matúš is a great professional, he knows the club and has a lot of experience. We believe that it´s a good choice," GM Adolf Šádek explained.
