There are lots of Viktoria fans who don’t miss any of the home matches. But these two are rather special. This year, they will be 180 years old together! Meet Eliška and Bohumil, for whom Viktoria is an integral part of their long lives.

Bohumil doesn’t even remember how long he’s been attending the Viktoria matches. It’s just been really long time. But he remembers exactly when his wife Eliška joined him. It was 20 years ago. That’s when they started to go to the Viktoria matches together and it became a beautiful tradition and important part of their life together.

Apart from attending the home league matches, the pair also came to see all the practice matches in Pilsen and its surroundings. Both proved there’s red-and-blue blood running through their veins. There was only one exception. They travelled to Prague, where Viktoria played its first Champions League matches back then.

Viktoria got into their lives and never left them. And it even changed some of their habits. “My dad even learned how to use a computer, so he can watch the practice games on YouTube. And he keeps track of the away games on the teletext,” said their son Michal Zíka. “Viktoria brings joy and entertainment to their lives and it’s a constant topic of their everyday conversations. They watch the performance of the players and the transfers very closely and then comment on them,” he added. This proves the Pilsen’s football has an impact on their everyday lives.

What’s their greatest moment and experience with Viktoria? “We can’t just pick one. Of course, there’s the first title, but there are also the promotions from the second league. We remember saying goodbye to Pavel Vrba, and after all, we remember every nice goal,” they described. Mr. Zíka Jr. added one interesting detail: “Dad even won the half-time penalty shot contest twice. And he was 85 years old!”

As regular visitors of the stadium, Bohumil and Eliška have a good overview of the fan base. “They really appreciate the communication of Viktoria towards the fans,” said Mr. Zíka Jr. “They feel sorry about the fact, that some stadiums do not have a good attendance. But generally, they consider the Czech fans as decent and well behaved, apart from some visiting fans incidents.”

“One time, we accidentally found ourselves right in the centre of the fan club. They were thoughtful enough to warn us and say it’s going to be noisy over there,” Eliška and Bohumil remembered with a smile.

This year, they both celebrate their beautiful 90th birthday (Eliška on the 15th February, Bohumil on 4th August). On the behalf of the whole club, we wish them good luck, health and satisfaction both in their lives and in our football. We hope we will meet them at the stands for a long time to come!
