Today the Victorians move to Benidorm, Spain for a training camp. Coach Miroslav Koubek has 22 field players and 4 goalkeepers in his squad.
Shortly before noon, Viktoria will fly from Nuremberg to sunny Alicante, from where it is only a few dozen kilometres to the traditional Benidorm. Here, during a twelve-day training camp, they will fine-tune their form for the upcoming spring kick-off against Anderlecht in January.
Two new reinforcements - Amar Memić and Merchas Doski - are already fully available to coach Miroslav Koubek. Striker Rafiu Durosinmi and midfielder Matej Valenta have also joined the winter training after injury. Both are therefore not missing from the squad for the training camp. Christophe Kabongo, on the other hand, will not travel to Spain with the team, as he is recovering and training individually at home in Pilsen.
The squad is also missing players who have been transferred in the last few days (Erik Jirka, Jan Sýkora) or whose immediate future is currently being discussed. Specifically, Jhon Mosquera, Ricardinho, Cory Sène and James Bell. "John Mosquera has received our permission to negotiate a new contract, while Ricardinho´s spring hosting is being intensively discussed. Bello and Sène will be in our reserves in the spring," commented Daniel Kolář, the club´s sporting director.
Goalkeeper Florian Wiegele has also left the team and will join Austrian club Grazer AK. Goalkeeping coaches Matúš Kozáčik and Petr Bolk have a four-man line-up of Martin Jedlička, Marián Tvrdoň, Viktor Baier and Matyáš Šilhavý.
