Viktoria Plzeň has announced its first summer signing: Baboucarr Faal. The 23-year-old forward joins from the Ukrainian club Karpaty Lviv and has signed a four-year contract at Doosan Arena.

Forward Baboucarr Faal hails from Gambia, from where he made his way to the Ukrainian top flight via Croatia. He has made a name for himself with his performances for Karpaty Lviv, scoring 9 goals and recording 5 assists in 26 matches this season, and adding two more goals in the cup. He is now joining Doosan Arena, where he signed a contract today that runs through 2030.

“He is a tall, well-built forward who is very productive. We’ve been closely monitoring him since the winter and have now decided to bring him to Viktoria. We expect him to strengthen our offense and believe he’ll be able to build on his effectiveness here and take his performance to the next level,” said the club’s sporting director, Martin Vozábal, regarding the new signing.

“I see Viktoria as a very strong club that regularly achieves great results, even in European cup competitions. I remember the win in Rome very well, for example. This is an important step forward in my career, and I believe I will be an asset,” said the 23-year-old forward during the contract signing. “Everything happened very quickly, but I’m glad we were able to finalize the deal, and I’m already looking forward to my first meeting with the team,” concluded Baboucarr Faal, who is known by the nickname “Babu.”
