Footballers of Viktoria Plzeň managed the league match at Hradec Králové and, after a strong performance, won 3–0. Lawal opened the scoring just before the end of the first half, while Souaré and Ladra added two more goals after the break. Viktoria therefore take a deserved three points from the stadium.
Viktoria kicked off today’s match. Already in the 2nd minute Souaré tried a long-range effort, but his shot was deflected and resulted in a corner kick. Krčík then unfortunately headed the ball behind him towards Mihálik, who attempted a curling shot, but the alert Wiegele was ready. In the 6th minute Viktoria created a promising opportunity on the edge of the box, but failed to finish it. Four minutes later Krčík stopped a well-developing attack from the opponent. In the 14th minute Souaré tried his luck from distance again, but this time his effort was comfortably saved by the attentive Zadražil. In the 16th minute Doski produced a great piece of skill, nutmegged his opponent and was subsequently fouled. From the resulting free kick, Hrošovský fired directly at goal, but his shot only hit the crossbar. In the 33rd minute Wiegele made a fine save when he managed to stretch and reach a deflected shot from outside the box. Until the end of the first half the match was open and played at a high tempo from end to end, with both teams creating several half-chances but without a goal. However, the decisive moment came in the 44th minute. Lawal punished the goalkeeper’s long run off his line and delicately chipped him to open the scoring. Viktoria therefore went into the dressing room with a one-goal lead.
The start of the second half went Viktoria’s way. Višinský created space for himself and delivered a light cross into the box, where Souaré found the ball and increased the lead to two goals. The game then became more physical and the number of fouls increased. Shortly after coming onto the pitch, Toure tested the opposing goalkeeper in the 63rd minute, but his shot was not powerful enough to cause serious trouble. In the 66th minute another blow followed – Višinský again found Souaré, whose attempt bounced back into play, where Ladra was ready and blasted the ball under the crossbar to make it 3–0. The home side from Hradec Králové still tried to do something with the result, but in the 82nd minute Wiegele showed his quality on the ground and saved the shot. Viktoria then safely controlled the closing stages of the match and deservedly secured the victory.
