Viktoria Plzeň drew 0:0 in Pardubice. Head coach Miroslav Koubek answered questions at the post-match press conference.

Coach, what do you explain the performance and the result that is not ideal for you?

The performance in terms of combination and movement was not bad, but we couldn´t score goals. The reasons are traditional, we have to be better in the centre and more incisive. Pardubice blocked us well in our hopeful situations, which were not few. We had to watch the breaks and standard ones, where we survived clinical death. After that, we conquered, but we didn´t break through. We lacked productivity.

Did you expect so much resistance from the home team?

I´d say so. In the previous game against Baník, for example, they already showed that their performance is rising. Today, the home team fought back well and created chances against us after standard chances. It was about productivity today. We ran into a solid and dedicated defence and couldn´t break through. We made it easier for them by playing some situations.

Did Thursday´s game against Lazio have a big impact on the team?

First of all, health-wise. We came out of that game with a lot of aches, pains and injuries, which I don´t want to specify, but we had to adjust the lineup and the players´ minutes accordingly. Health-wise, we took a beating. In addition, Daniel Vasulin fell ill in the morning, which was another loss. So we made the line-up according to the health condition of the players and their possible minutes, because some of them were not 100% fit.

In the spring you entered the league with a significant lead over Sparta, now you are two points behind them. How do you explain this?

Sparta is 100% so far in the spring and has closed our gap. We lost two points today. We are playing on two or three fronts, which is not easy. It´s not easy to win everything in a game like this.

What´s the plan for Lazio? Will the players be able to rest mentally and physically?

We are preparing for Lazio according to a plan that doesn´t count on one or two days off, because that would be counterproductive. Of course we have to regenerate and the players who are not so busy will get lighter training. We will rest during the national break, but the question is who will really rest.
