This Friday the Victorians will enter the league with a match at Pardubice. This will be followed by the first match of the Champions League second round against Servette FC on Tuesday at 19:00 in Doosan Arena. The new feature is a new tufted hybrid turf.

Viktoria Plzeň enters the new season 2025/2026 with 24 players and 4 goalkeepers. Among them are four new signings Adrian Zeljković, Denis Višinský, Tomáš Ladra, Karel Spáčil and returnees Tom Slončík and Florian Wiegele. James Bello, who was on the B team in the spring, also managed to earn his place on the roster.

"We are entering the season with this squad. We are aware that we will have a tough fight on three fronts and we want to be well prepared," said Daniel Kolář, the club´s sport director.

The Victorians will also play the new season in three completely new sets of Macron jerseys, which have been gradually introduced to the fans in recent days.

And with what ambitions is the team going into the new season? "Those who know me know that we always have the highest ambitions. Now we want to have a good start to the league and then our attention will turn to the Champions League second preliminary round," said Adolf Šádek, chairman and CEO of the club.

The captain´s armband will be worn by striker Matěj Vydra. "I am sure that this is the right choice. Matěj is a fighter, he knows how to speak his mind and is a natural leader," said head coach Miroslav Koubek.

"It is a huge honour and commitment for me. I always want to give my absolute best and now I also feel the responsibility for the whole team. I will do everything I can to always look our fans in the eye," Matěj Vydra was clear.

INTO THE NEW SEASON ON THE NEW HYBRID EMBROIDERED TURF!

A quality playing surface is the basis for good football. And this applies all year round, including the winter months when most turf players struggle with the lack of natural vegetation. Thanks to the city of Pilsen, we can now look forward to a hybrid tufted turf in the Doosan Arena, which is based on a unique modern technology.

"This is the latest technology used by the biggest European clubs. Our aim is to keep the playing surface in 100% condition at all times, even in the winter months. A big thank you to the city of Plzeň," commented Adolf Šádek, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the club.

"This is an investment that is essential today. I am glad that we have taken another important step and once again moved the infrastructure of the municipal stadium in Štruncové sady. I wish the whole Viktorka team to thrive on the new turf," said Roman Zarzycký, Mayor of Pilsen.

"It is a hybrid turf with tufted artificial fibre. Its advantages are especially evident in the winter months, when it is much more stable, visually greener and offers the players the necessary conditions," explained Tomáš Samec, the club´s technical director. "The grass carpet is imported from Italy and is stitched with artificial fibre to a depth of 18 centimetres. This stitching was taken care of by a special machine which was in operation for a whole week practically twenty-four hours a day," he added.

EUROPEAN PRELIMINARY ROUNDS ON NOVA SPORT

All home matches of the European Cup preliminary rounds will be broadcast live on Nova Sport. The first of these will be the Champions League second preliminary round match between Vikta Plzeň and Servette FC on Tuesday 22 July at 19:00 on Nova Sport 3.
