Forward Matěj Vydra has extended his contract with the club until 2027.
Matěj Vydra joined Viktoria three years ago when he arrived as a free agent from Burnley in England. He signed a three-year contract with the club and extended it by one year in January during a training camp in Benidorm, Spain. He has now agreed to another extension with the club and will wear the beautiful Viktoria jersey until 2027.
"Matěj Vydra confirms in every match exactly what we expected from him when he arrived. He is a huge professional, gives his all to football, and performs brilliantly on the pitch. He is a role model for all his younger teammates and has a huge influence in the dressing room. It is no coincidence that he became captain and the natural leader of the team. All of this logically led to a proposal to extend his contract, and we are pleased that we were able to reach an agreement very quickly," said Daniel Kolář, the club´s sporting director.
"There wasn´t much to think about; I am extremely satisfied at Viktoria. My goal is for us to be successful as a team, and everything else is secondary to that," said the 33-year-old striker. "Of course, the start of my engagement wasn´t ideal, but after the injury I went through, that was to be expected. I´m glad that we and I personally are doing well now and that I´m contributing to the team. I´m enjoying football here to the fullest, and I´m happy when we can make our wonderful fans happy," added Matěj Vydra, captain of Viktoria.
