Zdeněk Psotka returns to Viktoria Plzeň after four years. He will become the Sporting Director of the club academy and will be responsible for its leadership.
The experienced 52-year-old official has previously worked at the Doosan Arena, where he was in charge of running the academy and in 2017 became the club’s Sporting Director. He left that position four years ago to join the FAČR. Now he returns to Viktoria as the Sporting Director of Youth.
“After the arrival of the new owner, we set the development of our academy as one of our key goals. That’s why I’m pleased that we found common ground with Zdeněk Psotka, who is one of the most experienced experts in this field, and that our paths are connecting again,” said Adolf Šádek, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the club. “He will be responsible for the operation of the entire academy across all age categories, as well as the development of talents and coaches,” added Adolf Šádek.
“We have a very ambitious project ahead of us that builds on previous good work, and together we will try to move it even further so that Viktoria Plzeň’s academy ranks among the best in the country,” said Zdeněk Psotka upon his appointment. “Continuous development, coach education and player development are key in this area. The goal is that in the future we will continue to produce top-quality players who will be able to establish themselves in the first team and on the European stage,” concluded Zdeněk Psotka.
