FC Viktoria Plzeň announces the arrival of a new offensive reinforcement. Twenty-three-year-old striker Salim Fago Lawal, who most recently played for NK Istra, is transferring to the West Bohemian club.

During his time at Istria in Croatia, the Nigerian native scored a total of 15 goals and 2 assists. His performances attracted significant attention and earned him a nomination to the Nigerian national team, with which he won third place at the 2025 African Cup of Nations.

Now 23 years old, the striker is transferring from Istria to Viktoria!

"After Rafia Durosinmi´s departure, we wanted to increase competition in our offense, which is being fulfilled with the arrival of Salim Faga Lawal. We had been following him from the Croatian league. He is a fast player who can play both at the top and on the wing. I am glad that the transfer has now been completed and we can count on him for the league start this weekend," said the club´s sporting director Martin Vozábal.

"I know Viktoria mainly from its performances in European competitions, where it has had excellent results for a long time. So I was very interested in this offer. I see it as a step forward in my career and I want to help the club as much as possible," said Salim Fago Lawal after signing a three-and-a-half-year contract.

"Considering that I was with the national team at the African Cup of Nations, I think I´m well prepared and will be fully available to the coaches right away. I´m looking forward to the first training session and getting to know my new teammates," added Viktoria Plzeň´s new signing, who will wear the number 70 on the beautiful red and blue jersey.

The clubs have decided not to disclose the transfer fee and other details of the transfer.
