In the 18th round of the Chance League dedicated to sustainability and environmental protection, Viktoria Plzeň traveled to Uherské Hradiště for their last away league match of the year. The match ended in a 3-0 victory for the home team.
The match against Slovácko started actively right from the start. It was clear that both teams wanted to score at all costs. Therefore, there were many personal duels. The main referee awarded the first yellow card in the 13th minute to Plzeň midfielder Matěj Valenta. Viktoria created the first significant scoring opportunity. The home team pressed Merchase Doski, who was standing on the edge of his own penalty area. The Iraqi defender took it upon himself to take the ball under pressure and launched a quick counterattack that could have put the West Bohemian club in the lead. After a combination, the ball found its way to Amara Memić. He found captain Matěj Vydra in the penalty area, but Vydra shot over the bar in the final phase.
In the 30th minute, Plzeň took a direct free kick from the edge of the penalty area. Tomáš Ladra took the kick, but his curling shot was saved by Milan Heča. Despite Viktoria's good play, Slovácko took the lead after a goal by Milan Petržela. Before the end of the first half, the home team managed to score again after a quick counterattack. This time, Patrik Blahút scored the goal, so Viktoria went into the locker room trailing by two goals.
Head coach Martin Hyský sent out a lineup with one change for the second half. Prince Adu replaced Rafia Durosinmi. The game continued in a similar vein to the first half. The ball was mostly kept in the middle of the pitch without any significant opportunities on either side. Viktoria tried to increase the pressure on Slovácko, while the home team launched counterattacks.
In the 69th minute, Plzeň suffered another blow when Daníček headed in to make it 3-0. The red-and-blues could have reduced the deficit immediately, but Cheicka Souaré was denied by another excellent save from Milan Heča. Viktoria tried to turn the game around, but without success. They thus leave Uherské Hradiště with a defeat.
