FC Viktoria Plzeň drew 2:2 with SC Paderborn 07 in the first preliminary match. How did assistant coach Jan Trousil evaluate the match? Find out below.

The first preparatory match is over. What is the assessment of the coaching staff?

I think the match fulfilled the purpose we wanted. It took a while for the boys to catch their breath in the beginning. It was very hot today, which the boys weren´t used to. So for the first 20 minutes we were looking for each other. The opponent was more aggressive and very well organized. However, after that we started to threaten. We got the lead, but the opponent equalized after a fast break. We regained the lead after a nice action. Unfortunately, we let ourselves be easily equalised again before half-time. In the second half the boys came into it well, we were active. Towards the end we had a huge chance - Adu could have pulled the win on our side. But, as I said, the result doesn´t play a big role. We are happy with the way the boys worked it out. We know what to work on and we have a fortnight to do it.

Is it good news for the coach that two strikers hit?

It´s definitely good news. But we´re also happy that Matej Valenta finally finished the game. New players - Doski and Memic - also started. So only positives from this game. We still have a lot of time ahead of us and we believe that the performance will build up towards the match with Anderlecht.

Rafiu Durosinmi hasn´t appeared in a game yet, but his time is coming?

Rafiu is already training with us. We thought about putting him in for a few minutes, but in the end we decided we´d rather wait. It´s possible that he´ll appear in the next game.

So what´s the boys got to do before Sunday´s game?

Tomorrow morning they will have a recovery training, in the afternoon they will have a normal training. On Saturday, we will focus on pre-match situations. Sunday is another game. After that we have four days until the next game, which will be a bit more challenging for the boys. But by then we´ll be at the stage where we want to fine-tune the details and not overload them before the Anderlecht game.
