FC Viktoria Plzeň travelled to Olomouc in the first spring league match. Unfortunately, the match ended with the home team winning 2:1. Sampson Dweh scored for Viktoria.
Viktoria´s coach Miroslav Koubek could not count on the ill Lukáš Kalvach for today´s match, the captain´s armband was worn for the first time by defender Václav Jemelka and he was replaced by Alexandr Sojka. Amar Memić also made his first start in the starting line-up. In the cold evening, Martin Jedlička made his first successful save in the 3rd minute. Viktorka´s first attempt on the opponent´s goal was a goal! Sampson Dweh perfectly ran onto Cadu´s corner and sent the ball into the net with an uncompromising header. The scoreboard showed the eleventh minute.
Matěj Vydra had another chance, but his header went wide of the target. Unfortunately, in the 17th minute the home side equalised after a scramble following a corner kick by Jan Navratil. In the 35th minute, Zorvan put Olomouc in front from a penalty when the referee whistled for handball to Svetozar Markovic. Viktoria wanted to react quickly to the unfavourable situation, Lukáš Červ shot from outside the box, but the home goalkeeper parried his attempt. In the 43rd minute, Dweh again pounced on a Cadua corner, but this time he headed it over the bar.
We went into the second half with no changes. Matěj Vydra got to a deflected ball in the 52nd minute, but he was not in possession at that moment and his attempt did not threaten the goal. In the 60th minute Miroslav Koubek made a substitution. Amar Memic was replaced by Jan Kopic. In the 70th minute, Rafiu Durosinmi made a big comeback, appearing on the pitch for the first time in a league match in a long time! And three minutes later, after a centre by Jemelka, he got in the end, but his header unfortunately went over the bar. In the 75th minute, another substitute Jiri Panoš had a great chance, but his attempt ended up just wide of the post...Viktoria failed to turn the game around, and with the final score of 2:1 we return home without points.
