Signed! Lukáš Hejda has extended his contract with Viktorka for another year. It happened in the same place as thirteen years ago, when he joined the club.

July 12, 2012. The day Lukáš Hejda first put on the Victorian jersey. He joined the team at the Austrian training camp in Westendorf and signed his first contract with the club.

Cut.

Same day, same place. Just thirteen years later. The burly stopper is with the team in Tyrol and together with Adolf Sádek they have just signed a contract extension for another year, until the summer of 2026.

"Lukáš has been with Viktorka for thirteen years and I am glad that we are now adding another year. Symbolically, we had the contract extension signed just for the Austrian training camp, where it all started," said Adolf Šádek, the club´s chairman and CEO.

"I may be thirteen years older, but my desire and determination is still the same, nothing has changed. I am happy to continue to wear the red and blue jersey. In fact, I can´t even imagine wearing any other one," added thirty-five-year-old stopper Lukáš Hejda.

"Great footballer, great guy. A professional and a role model for all his younger teammates. Of course, Lukáš doesn´t have such a heavy workload anymore, but his influence on the whole team and the club is irreplaceable. He passes on his valuable experience and is always ready to be a valid player on the field. You need such guys in the team," added Adolf Šádek.

The player himself was slowed down by a minor muscle injury at the start of the summer training, but now he is about to return to full training. "I want to be ready for the start of the season, we have a lot of games and big challenges ahead of us. We´re all looking forward to getting started," said the player, who celebrated five championship titles with Viktoria and experienced battles with Barcelona and other European giants. He has done all this in a wonderful thirteen years at the club.

Hejdis, we are looking forward to next year. Fourteen!
