Viktoria Plzeň defeated Baník Ostrava 2-0 at home in a special match called Plzeň Shines for Legends. Prince Adu and Amar Memić scored for Viktoria.
The match for legends in Plzeň started actively on both sides. Baník got into action in the first minute when Planka broke away on the left and sent a cross into the penalty area. However, the subsequent shot went wide of the goal. Four minutes later, Viktoria had a great opportunity. Zeljković passed to Ladra, who found Doski, who got past the defender, but his shot missed the target. The visitors threatened in the 12th minute, but Jedlička quickly blocked the shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Another dangerous situation came in the 17th minute after a set piece by the home team. Ladra shot, Baník's goalkeeper failed to hold the ball, but Červ committed a foul on the rebound. Shortly after, Dweh tried to surprise with a shot from a sharp angle, but he aimed wide. In the 24th minute, Viktoria struck first. Doski won the ball on the left side and passed it to Zeljković, who found Adua's head with a precise cross 1:0.
Baník could have responded soon after a mistake by the home team, but Jedlička saved his team again. Viktoria had another chance in the 32nd minute when Kabongo got a shot off after Adua lost the ball, but the visiting goalkeeper made the save and was then called for offside. The home side was more active until the end of the half and did not allow Baník any more chances. The teams went into the locker rooms with the score 1-0.
Immediately after the break, coach Hýský made two substitutions – Kabonga replaced Durosinmi and Zeljković was replaced by Karel Spáčil. The second half began with a chance for Baník. In the 48th minute, the visitors scored, but the goal was disallowed due to offside. In the 58th minute, Memić broke away on the right side, his cross was aimed at Ladra, and the action ultimately resulted in a corner kick. However, the home team did not threaten the visitors' goal from the ensuing corner kick. The visitors had a promising opportunity in the 65th minute, but a poor pass stopped their attack and Viktoria kicked the ball into the opponent's half.
A huge chance came in the 69th minute, when Jedlička again made an excellent save to deny the visitors. At the other end, Ladra's excellent cross found Adua, who tried to pass the ball to Durosinmi, but goalkeeper Holec read the play and stopped the action.
Baník increased the pressure in the final minutes, but Viktoria held on to the result. In stoppage time, after a corner kick by the visitors, Memić got to the deflected ball and put it into the empty net. With that play, the referee ended the match.
