After the national break, Viktoria Plzeň had a tough match against Sparta Prague at Letná. The home side had a promising goal scoring opportunity early in the match, but Martin Jedlička intervened with a great save and knocked the ball off the three posts. Unfortunately, Lukáš Haraslín opened the scoring in the 8th minute. But Viktoria answered the next minute when Pavel Šulc equalised at 1:1.
The pace of the match remained high, with action alternating on both sides. Spartan forwards created several chances, but goalkeeper Martin Jedlička kept his team with great saves. On the other side, the attacking trio of Rafiu Durosinmi, Pavel Šulc and Matěj Vydra threatened. Their pressure bore the desired fruit - after Cadua´s centre, Rafiu Durosinmi got his head through and sent Viktoria into the lead 1:2.
A few minutes later, the same player had another great chance when he rounded the home goalkeeper, but his shot was blocked by the onrushing defence. The players went to the booths with the score 1:2 for Plzeň.
At the beginning of the second half Sparta managed to equalise at 2:2. However, Plzeň reacted quickly again - after a long kick by Martin Jedlicka and an extended header by Matej Vydra, Rafiu Durosinmi got into an independent break and coolly finished under the crossbar. Viktoria continued the pressure and a moment later Matěj Vydra added to the scorers´ list, increasing the score to 2:4.
Spartan players tried to do something else with the result, but every attempt was defused by Martin Jedlička, who held his team several times. In the 83rd minute, the main referee ordered a penalty for the home team, but after the intervention of VAR, he subsequently called it off. The score did not change until the end of the match, and so Viktoria Plzeň took away three important points from Letná.
