Viktoria Plzeň won for the second time in Ďolíček with a result of 1:2. At the post-match press conference, head coach Miroslav Koubek answered questions from journalists.

We were in control of the game, says Miroslav KoubekCoach, you were in control of the game until the 70th minute, then the game changed a bit. What impressions do you have after today´s game?

I am satisfied. We got three points, and that´s the most important thing. We knew it wouldn´t be easy. I´m really happy with our performance in the first half. We played very well. I´m not afraid to say we were dominant. The only thing missing was another goal to make the most of the pressure. In the second half it was crucial that we quickly added a beautiful goal by Matej Vydra. This put us in a comfortable position to control the game more. Bohemia then changed their formation, started playing longer balls, but our defence managed it and the boys at the back played great.

If you compare both games with Bohemians, how was today´s one different?

To be honest, it was almost identical. Bohemia stuck to the 3-4-3 formation, they just changed two pieces on the board. But they chose the same strategy. Withdraw, let us play and try to strike on the break after our mistake. Same scenario as Thursday. Nothing really surprised us.

You attacked mainly through the right side, where central midfielders Pavel Šulc and Lukáš Červ were often involved. Was that the intention?

Exactly. On the side where Kovařík and Schejbal played, we felt more space for offensive penetrations and I think we were able to use it well.

The fans chanted “Vydra to the national team” after Matej Vydra´s goal. Would you like to see him return to the national team?

I would definitely wish it for him. He´s in shape for it. He missed the last national team meeting because of an injury. After the game against Slavia, he had to recover, so he apologized. He didn´t train at all in the first week of the camp, until the second week, when he was getting himself together. Otherwise, I think he would have been in the nomination.

You have one last home game against Dukla. It´s in your hands. Is this exactly what you wanted after the national break?

It´s good, it´s pleasing. The schedule has lightened up a bit after the Cup dropout, so the performance should theoretically go up, and that´s confirmed so far. We´ve won every game since then. We´ve got to second place and we´ll try to stay there as long as possible.
